Please note the basement and Muskoka room are partially finished.
Built in ever popular Muskoka, the heart of Ontario cottage country, on much sought-after Lake Muskoka, this fantastic 3,600 sq. ft., 5 bedroom cottage is a lakeside gem that must be experienced! Located at the end of a private lane on 5 acres of land with only one other cottage on it, tucked into a bay and nestled behind towering trees, peace and privacy is a given!
The design of the interior of the cottage centers on the use of natural materials such as slate floors in the foyer and bathrooms, granite kitchen counters, gorgeous beech wood floors throughout and a stunning floor to ceiling stone fireplace in the great room. The custom built Normerica post and beam design, with soaring cathedral ceilings in the main living area, and vaulted ceilings in the upper level bedrooms, creates an immense feeling of luxury and space, while all the furnishings and bedding beckon for casual comfort and relaxation.
The main level open concept kitchen/dining/living area is bright and spacious with an abundance of windows and glass doors allowing for beautiful tree-top views of the lake that can be enjoyed while prepping meals, dining or when relaxing in front of the fireplace on cooler evening. Retreat to the Muskoka room, an architectural piece of art on its own, for your after-dinner beverage and open the doors to the deck to take in the warm summer breezes off of the lake. Please note that there is an open staircase to the lower level of the cottage which is an unfinished basement.
The generous sized master bedroom is on the main level, overlooking the lake with a 3-piece ensuite and a walk-out to a screened-in sitting room and then out to the deck. A 2-piece bathroom and laundry room round out the main level. The upper level is well laid out with two bedrooms with a 4-piece bathroom at one end and two more bedrooms and 3-piece bathroom at the other end.
As warm and inviting as the interior of the cottage is, the surrounding property is designed to create the same sense of beauty, comfort and serenity. An abundance of trees provides shade and privacy while there are a variety of places to convene and relax while soaking up the rays. With an eastern exposure, head down to the 400 feet of waterfront and start your days off on the dock, watching the glorious sunrises while sipping your coffee. The owners created a sandy beach where the little ones can spend hours playing and building sand castles while the adults relax on the nearby dock and enjoy the sunshine until mid-afternoon. Off of the beach are 2 steps into the lake where the water remains shallow for about 15 feet out and combined with hard- packed sand it makes it ideal for both young and old alike to safely splash and play.
While relaxing at the waterfront is a must, getting out onto the lake will add to your vacation memories. Being in a bay makes for calmer waters and with 2 kayaks at your disposal be sure to go for a paddle and explore the lake. For avid boaters bring your own boat or rent a boat and explore the extensive network (known as "The Big Three") connecting Lake Muskoka to Lake Rosseau by the Indian River, and Lake Rosseau to Lake Joseph by the St Joseph River. Lake Muskoka is extremely picturesque with an abundance of islands and has everything you could wish for in a lake, you can even boat to restaurants.
Extensive granite landscaping and granite stairs take you from the waterfront to the large fire pit, complete with granite benches, with a wood staircase taking you up to the expansive deck. Enjoy BBQ dinners on the deck where the entire family can dine at the stunning harvest table (hand made by the owner and his sons!) while taking in peaceful tree-top views of the lake. End your days gathered around the fire pit roasting marshmallows while watching the sky fill with a blanket of stars and know that tomorrow will be another day of bliss in cottage country paradise!
